Lessons

Southmowing is inspired by the principles of Centered Riding and a variety of training modalities. Students may ride their own horse or one of our herd of Centered Riding-trained school horses. We have horses to suit a range of experience levels, from beginner-friendly to upper-level dressage schoolmasters and low jumpers - some bred and trained right here on the farm. We do not do trail ride rentals, but lesson students with sufficient experience have the option of exploring our miles of trails and backroad access for added adventure. Schedule lessons through our contact page.

Lesson Preparation
Schedule your lessons through our contact page to be matched with a horse, instructor, and possibly group to match your ability. Long, fitted pants, riding boots, and helmets are required for all riders. We have loaner helmets available in a mix of sizes, and loaner boots in mostly child sizes. To save time in prep for your first lesson, fill out our release form and review our attendance policy below before you arrive.
